Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No, we don't require any identification to show you rates. The quote tool only needs your biological sex, birthdate, self-assessed health status, whether you use tobacco, the death benefit amount you want and the term length. Those six pieces of information are sufficient for the carriers to provide their quotes. Your personal details—name, address, phone, email—are only collected if you decide to move forward with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The prices shown are the exact quotes each carrier is providing for the underwriting class you selected. After you apply, the carrier will conduct underwriting to confirm or potentially adjust your class, which could affect the final rate. Everything on this site is an estimate provided for information purposes only and is not an insurance offer or rate guarantee.
What happens when I click Apply?
Clicking Apply takes you into the carriers' secure application environment, which is already filled in with the answers you provided on this site. You're free to review, edit, save your progress and come back later. When you're ready to submit, you'll sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129), handles the application process.
Will I need a medical exam?
Whether you'll need a medical exam depends on the carrier you choose, the benefit amount, and your health answers. Many carriers today offer accelerated underwriting for qualified applicants, allowing them to skip the exam and get approved the same day. Every quote on this site tells you whether an exam is required, may be required, or is not required for that specific product.
Is a longer term better?
A term should match the years you need protection most: a 30-year mortgage, kids at home, a business you're building. Longer terms lock in a fixed rate for more years but cost more each month. Shorter terms cost less monthly but only protect you for fewer years. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year terms side by side so you can see the tradeoff.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool itself collects nothing but your six answers; we retain none of that information on our servers. We don't sell or share personal data, we don't use advertising trackers, and we don't load third-party analytics. Our measurement is cookieless, and browsers that send Do Not Track signals aren't tracked at all. Check the privacy page for the complete details.
